2010 Predictions for the Sun Signs

Aries: You are so full of energy and conviction, so ready to finally engrave a mighty imprint of authority upon your public profile. You are en pointe with your goals, demanding the broader stage from which to be seen, the freedom to do as you please or the lover that will take you over the top. But certain partners, friends and enemies will be such sticks-in-the-mud; dragging the feet, make you work extra hours, engaging those lethal, passive-aggressive tactics that absolutely infuriate. Harder still, some of these people do have the clout to tell you to chill, remember your place, withhold promotion, etc. Some will be coping with the loneliness of not having a partner at all, while others must adjust to the selfless obligations that come with the newly committed state. The rule of thumb is to avoid demanding all kinds of leeway for yourself while attempting to judge or overly regulate others.

A tangled briar stands in your way; old baggage having to do with double standards that came down through your family of origin needs to be composted. Unwieldy habits such as going it alone too much, not really listening to others, pouting or storming out when not getting your way must be dismantled. A certain tendency to measure self-worth by sex appeal, career, income, spiritual or sacrificial fervor needs to also be muzzled, otherwise the more experienced players out there are gonna strum you like a harp. The real issue is an alien pod in the gut, something dangerous and exciting having to do with alternative friendships, higher mind or foreign culture that has been slowly growing in the deepest corners of your hidden attic for some time; this summer the thing will finally burst forth and be seen. Your real task lies in being able to mutate your persona gracefully to accommodate this new growth, perhaps eventually make something marketable out of it. Some of you also need to start treating all different kinds of people, even in-laws, with true parity instead of dismissing whoever threatens your self-esteem or does not suit your purposes. Take a second look too, at any assumption that you do always know better.

Taurus: Your philosophy of life along with the ability to network and integrate with social institutions is going to determine how you fare this year. The nuts and bolts of it is work and more work, but along the way you may come into serious disagreements with authority or have to tangle with legal negotiations. Your public image and career focus is melting into something else anyway so adjust your shtick, no big deal, while sidestepping stubbornness, inflexibility and pride. There may be a health issue or two but the general vitality level will be at nuclear; don't use it to mouth off to those who aren't worth arguing with in the first place. Tapping into a new cosmic mandala, embracing the flow of fractal metaphysics while melding with the Comedy of the Divine is also featured.

The general idea is to bring your Light to whoever needs to hear or see it; more people out there will likely be interested in what you have to say. In fact, this should be a banner year for Taurean performers and artists of all kinds. Partners will play a dominant role in what you are practically able to do; play your cards right and you may end up working, publishing, speaking or exploring abroad with their support. Mundane fortune rests in being able to capitalize on practical, hands-on skills you developed in the past. Children may get into mischief but it is time to let them learn from their own lessons, instead of bossing them around. Watch out for any galloping tendency to apply a frog-in-the well perspective, overly technical jargon, dogmatic cant or foggy sentimentalism to what's happening out there as the world morphs into a Fellini flick. Somebody might actually ask you to step up and offer your expertise to the group, only to have you end up sounding like a provincial lout lost in acid flashbacks or Joseph McCarthy on speed, depending on political preference.

Gemini: Normally you are so light and nimble, stepping gracefully around the heavier subjects and turgid emotions, preferring to make light souffles out of the primal depths of sex, death, power and other people's money. But this year all that stuff really gets to you; it creeps into your career and community connections, dirties the carpet at home, upsets the children if you have any and complicates matters with lovers. Your public profile will be quite high, even if only on the streets as a drunk, so mind your manners. You can benefit through career, travel, siblings or public service, but this is not the time to get too materialistic and controlling over your stuff; ditto whanging on as the professional victim, escaping into busy-work or trying to singlehandedly save the world from itself.

This is a good year to evaluate all of your energy exchanges; giving and receiving, unconditional love versus the kind with strings attached. You might demand loyalty out of associates, but how loyal and trustworthy were you to others in the past? To whom have you given too much while neglecting your own needs? You might be right on the money in fingering the dysfunctions of others, but how much effort have you put in to owning your own dark side, healing your own secret wounds? Some of you will grapple with difficult health issues, children may want you to bail them out but it's time for everybody to tend their own garden. The moves you are able to make this summer and on into fall will be directly tied to somebody else's juju and their inclination to dispense it to you, so be graceful and attentive. Any inclination to be superficial, cut corners, be sloppy with details or subtly manipulate will surely backfire.

Cancer: Well, you guys really get nailed this year, sorry, but many of you hid out a little too long in the shell, throwing out platitudes to those who enquired within. Now it's time to wade out and deal with the riff-raff, no hanging back. Big changes at home base; some will be leaving, others having babies or starting a new business. Still others are establishing a home together with someone for the first time; this to be done while the rate of change in career moves up to supersonic in needing to master new innovations and widely broaden one's previous perspectives. Some of you will be traveling hither and yon; expect to be jolted out of the Newtonian mechanical version of the universe, dropping down instead to do a tango with chaos theory more than once by next August.

There will be little tidy and quiet, nestled in with your own private ennui, but domestic obligations that have to be honored will certainly present. Home might also be subject to the whims and dark Machiavellian twists of others, so get ready to kneel down and cooperate instead of complaining about the food, okay? More than any other sign in the zodiac you will be required to discard every shred of personal hang-up, every tiny vestige of holding on to yesteryear. Will really need to watch a tendency to get paranoid; projecting your own junk onto other people will not be tolerated, even while having to trust that the universe will nurture you, if only with canned Vienna sausages. Some will be susceptible to making financial deals with mysterious people who, having told you what you want to hear will proceed to take advantage, the classic Cancerian horror story. Consider these adventures as exercises designed to detach you from conditioning and co-dependent habits. But hey, in the midst of all the clamor and clash you will always find ways to attract abundance, even if stranded on Neptune where cash isn't used.

Leo: Just like Scorpio, we sure are gonna see a lot of you this year, putting your magnificent self out there for the entire world to see. For the first time in years you will actually be required to come out of the closet of whatever has been making you moody and withholding, in order to actually procure your hearts' desire in tangible form. This process involves teaching, learning, communicating, travel or all of these. Also on the agenda is a total transformation of how one treats people at work and indeed, how the process of the work itself is managed. Some of you may struggle with health issues but eating gut-cleansing and bone-building stuff while not clogging up your adrenal system with toxic emotions like resentment, should go a long way to alleviating problems. You may be thoroughly unnerved by how much you have to go along with the plans of others, but if not taking this process personally you should be healthy as a horse.

Many will experience deaths amongst family or friends and some may inherit financial benefit thereof; others will marry up or develop lucrative backing for their creative projects, however expect joint financial support from partners to be erratic in these changing times. Your fortune actually lies in being nice to siblings, kids and neighbors while putting some effort into overcoming longstanding personal barriers in communication, creativity or self-marketing; hands-on, training in new practical skills that require dexterity is a must. This does not include the ability to natter on the phone, spend whole days on the Internet browsing or getting other people to do it for you. In your spare time there could be a struggle between earthly, sensuous desires and appetites that need to be fed, versus a sort of peculiar karmic habit of putting partners on a pedestal while not allowing them much rope to be human or to function as mature adults all by themselves. Or picking lovers and associates who will surely restrict or disappoint you later, therefore giving you an excuse to ration your love or leave.

Virgo: Going to be a Waterloo for you this year, between what you want to do and be, what you think is important in life, and what others want out of you. Opportunities to partner up with the financially flush or powerful will present themselves along the way, but money and control issues could be dicey. Actually the problem could more involve yourself, in terms of feeling obliged to be more conservative, conventional and dutiful in your choice of activities, than you privately feel able to tolerate. Or flip side, you want the world to go back to the traditional while it is none the less slipping away. Chronic health issues with an emotional root could plague you, as you may struggle with what you imagine to be your proper place in society to be, or not. This while society itself will be rippling like a mule having sucked down too many milk-shakes.

Additional complications can arise from pent-up anger and aggression, leading to the proverbial wrong thing said at the way wrong time; stubborn pride and inflexibility will deliver their own coup de grace. Really, all the cosmos is asking you to do is sincerely identify your private passion first, do hands-on research and experience, then be willing to do whatever it takes to give disciplined form to the dream. You will indeed require the assistance of other people, but you will need to find someone who is willing to allow you some freedom and personal choice in the process. Paradoxically, you must also be willing to be a sincere team-worker, supportive of the creative dreams of others and honorable with their resources. Being a user, judge or wastrel won't work, especially with children or animals if you have them. You will need to show up every day, heart in hand, freely giving of your own love, time and energy too.

Libra: You can share the award for having the most direct survival pressure put on you with Cancer folk, so there now, you won't be alone. Librans are slated for a whole new cycle in life to begin, that has something to do this year with dusting up the home and personal values situation, big time. There is the issue of domestic tyrants, yourself or somebody else. Then we can move on to kids, if you have any, and what you are letting them do, or not. Exhausting that we can move on to your own creative efforts and perhaps doing more of that as a side business or as a way to keep your sanity while everything else flips and twirls around you. Librans would rather die than be caught not being diplomatic, but underneath it all they must have their organic crumpets well-buttered and the sheets must be high thread count Egyptian cotton.

They also want a finger on the pulse of sex, money and sofa style; a critical, nit-picking tyrant or meandering back-door man-or woman-can magically emerge out of the same body. So, all of this stuff is put up for review and transformation this year. While you will have wonderful support from friends or may even get yourself elected to the town council, you may want to consider erecting a boxing ring in your yard. A clean fight with partners and opponents will yield much better results than covertly maneuvering, quietly with holding, miserly hoarding or acting like your mother used to when wanting her way. Career matters may remain murky and political but just plain work should still pay well. Some of you will be ending one line of endeavor and beginning another, or duties at the current place of employment will change drastically. Any habit of loftily holding up certain ideals while projecting your own shadow onto other people has got to go; otherwise, you are learning when to cheerfully burst out with Kum-Bay-Yah, and when to just do what you want.

Scorpio: After a few years of lying low, you're going to be impossible to miss during 2010. Yes, you will be right in our face, urging us on to work harder for you and play faster with you. But while the bold and brave Scorp bellows onward! for further exploration of the far Martian rim, underneath it all you don't really even know who you are, anymore. 'Tis a big quandary, what the world is doing with the lower vibrations of human existence or not; hey, some of us would be lost without turgid passion, drama, competition, lust, grudge-holding and intrigue. You will knit and pearl your way through a weird collage of both Scorpion and Phoenix, deciding what to be. Personally you can go far with all your projects, romantic or otherwise, but you will be forced to deal with those weak points in relations with others, that before now were often solved with blanket mantras like Me Against the World or They Are All So Stupid.

You will need to rely on your networks and partners more than ever to help you chart the most viable course through the troubled waters out there. So watch out for getting trapped in a hall of mirrors, projecting old issues of control, jealousy and revenge onto folks you can't afford to alienate, while skirting those who seek to rip you off. Horror of horrors, you will also need to practice surrendering into trust, that the cosmos has great plans for your future that not everybody is simply out to get you or use you. Be a love magnet, wear your flashiest tropical shirts when out on the town; be a chum who displays genuine interest in other beings, instead of brooding at home over your favorite medicinal of choice. Be an artiste and leave your bold imprint on some wild creative project, even making a baby. Save the good 'ole sting for those who want something out of you, while giving nothing in return. Really, the lesson this year involves learning that, as a magician, you really do create reality out of whatever you choose to believe.

Sagittarius: Starting on the high side, which you always prefer, what a great year to travel, pursue higher education, win legal squabbles or get yourself published, videoed and heard over the airwaves. Your creativity is thrumming along, as is the sex drive and ability to pursue pleasure. Things might be volatile at home and in the neighborhood, but it's looking good for buying a new house, remodeling, starting or expanding a business or family. So where's the rub, as everyone else has one this year. Well, yours is going to come out of the area of money and assets, your own and other people's. You might have gotten used to riding on the coat tails of various partners' prosperity or been nurtured for years in the bosom of the corporate ark, but all that is about to change. This year more than ever you are going to have to stand on your own merits and be your own source of good fortune.

Playing the victim or employing various strategies to wheedle money, time and energy out of others is not going to work well; conversely, being too stingy with your own funds and abilities will not suffice either. You will have strong opportunities for attracting abundance through community projects, friends or networks, but only if you show up, work hard and schmooze with folks you'd rather not bother with. The bugaboo to watch out for is any creeping tendency to be a bully, along with a vast appetite for sensual gratification which can get out of hand; leading you to make unwise financial decisions or spend money you don't have. Nothing but misery will come out of making vague promises you have no intention of keeping, misunderstanding contract terms or enticing yourself to cut corners on contract agreements you put out for others. Another weird area concerns getting into fights over values with other people, including your children; screws might actually have to be applied to the latter, as you will no longer be able to afford to indulge all their whims, nor they yours. Otherwise, expect whole segments of the world to go whacky this year, so pick your battles carefully. Not everyone is going to be in the mood to tolerate a gallant Sagittarian as spiritual warrior extroidenaire galloping into in their midst. Just walk your talk, demonstrate by doing.

Capricorn: Those who haven't retired yet are going to be a force to reckon with at work. But like an oxen yoked to a plow, all of you will be putting in long hours of nurturing service to something, someone or other this year. Some will benefit through taking high-tech classes, others through local travel; still others will be working to keep the neighborhood calm. While performing your tasks, the basic persona and public presentation will be going through a transformation that includes learning to hold your own with the power brokers or anybody else for that matter, who wants control. When not meditating on your own deep waters that swirl around ancestral status hang-ups, sex, chauvinism, money and religion. Some of you are going to have to deal with the death of somebody close to you, others will be drawn to contemplate their own mortality or go exploring in worlds that are said to exist in other dimensions.

You really will be a tuning fork, a psychic resonator for information and entities coming from elsewhere, so we need to get used to seeing you talk out loud to yourself.If needing a break from reality, consider taking a metaphysical class or doing a trip to inhale the energy at local mystery spots. During off hours you will likely be looking for a quality good time entertaining at home or, if on the road, enthroned in a sumptuous suite and sampling the finest restaurants with the most attentive of companions. Most Capricorns love to micromanage every little thing or other but now you will have to cut that act back, especially along the lines of caretaking others who either now need to stand on their own two feet or who have resented your meddling lately anyway. You will really need to watch your money carefully and forego throwing it after causes and luxuries you can't afford or indulging in speculation. This is a great year, however, for you to do some hustling for worthy causes, including yourself. Some of you will have health issues to contend with that could get serious, so keep those appointments for regular check-ups, please.

Aquarius: Like a hawk with independently rotating eyes, your attention will be trained in a couple directions this year. On the plus side, it's a great time to pursue higher education or establish global prominence. More locally you will be required to get past relational limitations that stem from Establishment social conditioning, which either tends to nag at you like a goat looking for pottage or at which you excel in wielding over others as a weapon. Although still entertaining a healthy urge to generate wealth and having plenty of connections through which to do so, your greatest fortune lies in strange, out-of-the-way places such as hospitals, prisons and zoos; anyplace where beings are kept in isolation or live at a disadvantage. This to give you an expanded perspective into the suffering side of life and the opportunity to develop some genuine, even emotional empathy for your fellow beings; not to mention doing some necessary service for others that is in some way karmicly connected to your future sanity.

On the challenging side, partners may not be so accommodating this year, while open enemies could become downright belligerent. This done, perhaps, to get your attention which has tended to be on the superficial or self-preoccupied side in recent years, also to force more self-consciousness about certain control-freak tendencies you may tend to deny. Conflicts may also erupt over what is to be done with your career, lifestyle or attitude. You are not supposed to automatically buckle under to threats or expectations, either. Rather, take any confrontations with others as a wake-up call to really hear what people are saying so you can honor their needs if legitimate, while also getting clear with yourself about what you really want to do with your talent and time. Also, please make good on any blithe promises made to others in the past, as you waltzed out the door for yet another tennis lesson or excursion to the bar.

Pisces: Remember Shaft, the detective with the perfect 'do, sky-high heels and well-tailored coats; that's you this year, baby. Like a shooting star on the move, come spring you will be wheelin' and dealin', working hard, connecting brilliantly with all levels of society. The game is going to get tricky; you can't get by without the cooperation of networks, friends and partners, but now either who you network with, how you connect and even the product or skill that you are offering has to transform drastically or there will be confrontations and losses. At times you may feel all alone, that no one is there to rely upon and you may be right. You are going to have to do an inventory amongst your motley crewe; some are going to be worth keeping, others are not. Some of you are going to partner up mainly to procure stability; be ready for the shock of someone asking you to modify your social schedule or what you do with your time for them.

Stubbornly holding on to overly idealistic, ungrounded expectations, being willfully eccentric or overly independent will considerably slow the progress to success. Over-indulging in illicit escapes will compromise your health, while being dreamy around rascals will be dangerous; the predators that prowl around certain venues will eventually want something you would rather not be forced to give. Uness you are one of those rascals; this is going to be a banner year to prey on the weak, for awhile. If you get too far and funky out there due to excessive contemplation of your own hipness, the implications will not be pretty for physical or financial health. At some point, you may even be forced to live on the move and home might be out of a suitcase. It's back to how amenable you are to making necessary logistical changes, and the company you choose to keep; they might be boring, but the hard-headed, practical types will help you thrive. Per the groovy, lavender-fog crowd, what can you get out of a mirage? Yes, as we reach the end of an Age the reality of polarity is supposed to fade away and we will supposedly be able to manifest whatever we need without effort; in the mean time your personal physics still needs a tweak or two.
